Who to contact

Chris Roberts trading as BrightPlug Energy is the sole trader responsible for your personal information. Our correspondence address is 71 Rushyford Drive, Durham, DL17 0EQ. For questions about your information or to exercise your rights, email hello@brightplugenergy.co.uk.

Information you give us

The enquiry form collects your name, email, postcode, optional phone number, property information, kit details, message and any photos you choose to upload. Photos may include embedded location information, so remove it first if you do not want to share it.

How we use it

We use your information to assess suitability, answer questions and prepare a requested quote. The legal basis for these steps is taking action at your request before entering into a contract. We use a legitimate interest in securing the website and handling business correspondence. We do not use enquiries for marketing without a separate choice from you.

Storage and access

Enquiries and photos are stored using the website hosting services provided through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Chris can access them through a restricted owner inbox. Correspondence sent by email uses Microsoft 365. When automatic enquiry emails are enabled, Resend processes contact details and enquiry information to send your confirmation and our business notification. Photos remain in the restricted website inbox. These providers may process data internationally under their applicable data-protection arrangements. We do not sell your information or publish your photos.

How long we keep it

We retain enquiry information while it is needed to respond, prepare a quote or manage related work. Closed enquiries are reviewed for deletion when no longer needed. If you become a customer, relevant records may need to be retained for contractual, warranty, accounting or legal purposes. Contact us if you want your enquiry and photos removed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability. We normally respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies and website connections

We have not added advertising cookies or analytics tracking. The hosting platform may use essential security or sign-in cookies, particularly for the private owner area. The website uses locally stored styling and images. Opening links to other websites is subject to those websites' policies.
